Jaguar has come good on its promise to finish off the six unused E-type chassis numbers to make half a dozen very special sports cars. The new Jaguar Lightweight E-type, unveiled today in Pebble Beach, Monterey, is the result: a stunning retro classic reimagined in painstaking period detail for 2014. Built by Jaguar Land Rover’s new Special Operations division at a new facility in old Browns Lane, the Lightweight E-type is also a shot across the bows of specialists such as Eagle, who have been making hay creating modern-day E’s.

Nissan product chief Andy Palmer, 51, has been appointed chief executive office of Aston Martin. A corporate spokeswoman at Aston Martin confirmed the news to CAR magazine ahead of an official announcement at 10.00am today. 'We are delighted he's joining us,' she said.
Ahead of its arrival with customers, Porsche has delivered a new video of the GT3 designed to make it clear just how some of its technical highlights work to make the GT3 swifter and more nimble than ever before. Power is of course the key to the GT3 – 468bhp and 324lb/ft of torque – but the power is no good unless the GT3 can put that power down as efficiently as possible in all circumstances. Porsche assert that the GT3′s chassis is engineered for Motorsport, and key elements of the new GT3 make it even more able.
